About Us

Malawi Cane was born in 2010, starting as a small home-run business in Cape Town, South Africa, In over a decade since then, Malawi Cane has become the world’s number one seller and exporter of natural Malawi Cane furniture.

We are proud to have named all of the ranges of chairs now used by the industry as a whole (Traditional Range, Classic Range etc.). 

We have a team of 25 people and are the only operator running our own fleet of vehicles and trucks, warehousing and retail space.

Our quality-assured wholesale prices, quality control, professionalism and accountability ensure a loyal following. We send regular containers to over 20 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Turkey, Greece and the United Kingdom.

Locally we supply most of the established interior decorators and private lodges, including Royal Malewane, Singita, Shamwari, Londolozi and Rock Pool Villa.

We have a shop in Diep River, Cape Town (just across from Block & Chisel), as well as a store in Graaff-Reinet (launching March 2026).
